Sealing Guide

Application of Waterbased Peneshield - Peneguard - Elite-Seal.

  • Protect any adjacent areas by masking to avoid splashes or overspray onto surfaces not intended to be treated.
  • Surface to be treated should be clean but can be damp.
  • Apply sealer liberally by spray, lambs wool applicator, roller or brush.
  • Leave for 5-20 minutes then reapply a second coat whilst still wet.
  • Wipe of excess sealer on top with a clean cloth after 5mins.
  • Allow to dry, water repellency will be evident immediately the surface appears dry, full curing will take 24 hours.
  • Temperature of Tile, Paver or Concrete should be between 10 - 29 Degrees Celsius.
  • Wash equipment in water as soon as finished.

In all applications wiping off any excess sealer on top of the surface is required.

Application of Solvent SS Enhancer & Solve-Seal

  • Protect any adjacent areas by masking to avoid splashes or overspray onto surfaces not intended to be treated.
  • The surface must be clean and dry.
  • Apply liberal coating of Sealer using brush, roller or low pressure spray.
  • Give the whole surface a “Wet” look.
  • Leave the coating to penetrate the surface for 5-10mins, dependant on drying conditions.
  • *Wipe off any excess with clean cloth after applying first and second coat.
  • The second coat of Sealer can be applied when the 1st coat is dried.
  • Tiles will take Approx 24-48 hours to fully cure dependant on weather.
  • Temperature of Tile, Paver or Concrete should be between 10 - 29 Degrees Celsius.
  • Clean tools with turps straight after applying.

In all applications wiping off any excess sealer on top of the surface is  required.

Application of Concrete Sealer

  •  Apply to dry or slightly damp area, dust free concrete surfaces only, caution On new concrete, best to allow 21 days curing prior to sealing.
  • Acid wash area in particuliar smooth concrete surfaces for better adhesion.
  • Two coats recommended for optimum effect.
  • Can be low pressure sprayed, brushed or applied by good quality roller.
  • Application must not be too thick as excessive build up may cause the Coating to appear milky.
  • Temperature of Concrete or area should be between 10 - 29 Degrees Celsius.
  • Allow 24-48 hours to cure.
  • Do not apply when temperature of concrete is below 10ºC.
  • Do not apply if rain is imminent.
  • Pedestrian traffic allowed after 24 hours.
  • Allow 5-7 days before vehicular traffic access.
  • Clean up equipment with water immediately after use.
  • Allow full cure of Concrete sealer before performing any cutting. 5-7 days minimum.
  • Clean tools with water before material dries.

Two thin coats will last longer than thick coats.

Application Gel Stripper

  • Note: - Shake well before use.
  • Surface temperature to be stripped should be between 10-29 Degrees Celsius.
  • Apply the stripper evenly to a 2mm thickness using a squeegee, brush, or roller. The timeframe for removal of the coating depends on the type of sealer or coating on the surface and the number of layers to be removed.
  • For multiple layers apply a slightly thicker application (approx. 3mm thick).
  • Check the effectiveness of the stripper at 10 minute intervals using a scraper. For epoxy coatings, allow the stripper to sit on the surface for at least 12 hours before removing.
  • Paint and Acrylic sealers for a period of 30mins-180mins dependant on the number of coats required to be removed.
  • To remove the stripper and sealer/coating residue, scrape the surface using a short or long handled scraper.
  • For textured surfaces such as exposed aggregate an extremely hard brush can be used. Black nylon stripping pads and an automatic floor scrubber can be used on smoother surfaces.
  • Scrub the surface with Elite Degreaser to remove all remaining stripper and high pressure water blast the area (external areas only) or rinse with clean water.
  • Surfaces may appear cloudy (grey/white appearance) when they eventually dry after stripping. This does not indicate any damage and the surface colours will return after re-sealing.
  • To ensure the sealer/coating has been totally removed from the surface, walk on the treated area looking for signs of tackiness and sealer residue.
  • Reapply Eco Stripper to these areas where the sealer/coating has not been totally removed
